The Severity Of Willfully Sinning

I pray that you all will realize the severity of willfully sinning, since you know what is right and what is wrong. Do not think that committing any kind of sin is OK. This is letting your guard down and at the same time distancing yourself from God. If the Holy Spirit was with you in the first place, then it is no longer there with you now. Why is this? It is because the Spirit of God cannot dwell in unclean temples, for anything unclean repels God’s presence. So the question is, would you rather live a life that relies on your own lusts or what the Lord can do in your life. If you have chosen your own desires, then your lusts will reign forth in your life. Therefore, you will continue to waster your money on things that are unnecessary, lust after men or women, look at pornography in secret, commit fornication or adultery, do drugs, drink to get drunk. These things will persist and never die down. This lifestyle also leads to destruction and a life forever outside of the kingdom of God. And if you are not in heaven, then you are condemned to hell and then the lake of fire, after judgement. 2“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Hebrews 10:31) The same cannot be said for those that confess their sins to God in prayer, ask for His forgiveness, and desire to change their lives through the Lord’s power. These types of individuals are rare in this wicked world we live in, but they are also the only people that will enter heaven. Because they have relied on Jesus and have endured in their faith till the end, they are blessed with eternal joy with God in heaven. Nothing is better than a cleansing of the soul, through the blood of Jesus, and then becoming holy in His sight.

Right now you may be thinking, how is it that I can get over my addictions? You may even say, I have already tried everything I can think of to stop and nothing works. Well, the truth is that nothing you can do will ever stop Satan from tempting you. You are not strong enough to resist His fiery darts on your own strength. However, the Lord Jesus can break those chains of addiction right now, if you pray to Him for deliverance. What you must know is that His armor can protect 1“against the rulers of the darkness of this world”. (Ephesians 6:12) With God in your life, you are no longer susceptible to what the world offers, since he is helping you make your decisions. So what can you do now to change your life? 1. Give your life to Jesus. Confess that He is Lord and for your sins to be forgiven, then ask that He will change your life. 2. Seek the Lord daily in everything you do. If what you are doing does not glorify God, then stop doing it. 3. Read the Bible daily. Pick a place in the Bible and start studying it verse by verse, then God’s Words will become a lamp unto your feet. 4. Pray often. Don’t just pray over your food, but in your car, when you wake and before you go to bed. Whenever you need the Lord, just call upon His Name. 5. Walk in the Spirit. Find a good Bible believing church and get baptized. God will then poor His Spirit upon you, and you will find out His plan for your life. It may be serving in your church or becoming a witness for Christ on the streets. Each one of these steps will guide you in your new life in Christ. Never stop desiring to do God’s will and you will be victorious against temptation and sin and become an example to the lost.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I love You. You are my God and I worship You. Thank You for coming into my life. I am helpless and unable to resist temptation without You. Without Your protection in my life, I am susceptible to sin and death. Therefore, never leave me Lord. Take every evil thought captive, that I may live a life solely for You and no longer for this world. What You have to offer is far greater than anything that the flesh could offer me. I no longer desire temporary satisfaction in my lusts, but Your eternal joy. It is Your happiness that sustains my life. Therefore, I am built up in Your armor and can fight the good fight against sin with You on my side. Thank You for protecting me God. I no longer wish to fall into willful sin, but stand up against temptation, and You have heard my cries. What has hurt me once and caused me much pain, I do not wish to recant. The shame and bitterness is tiresome and I need a solution to my addictions that lasts. I am sorry Lord for giving into my flesh and walking away from You in these moments. I was weak and I am sorry for not coming to You when I needed You most. Please forgive me. You are my Lord and I give You my life. Have Your way in me Lord and change my life now. May I always do Your will and walk in Your ways continually. I want to be your valiant servant, but need You to do the work inside of me. Please help me Lord, every day of my life. I trust in You Lord. You are the way that leads to life and I will follow You. Nothing else can fulfill my soul, but Your great love. Amen.
