Do Not Worship Angels, Mary Or Anyone Else But God

God’s Word makes it clear that worshiping anything but God alone is breaking God’s holy commandments. You would know this if you read the Bible and study them. So let us look into this some more and read the first two together, of which speaks on only worshiping God and bowing down to Him alone. Here is the First Commandment, 1“I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:2,3) And here is the Second Commandment, 1“thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;” (Exodus 20:4,5) And lastly, it says 1“and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” (Exodus 20:6) So, if you love God, then you will also obey His commandments and worship Him alone.

As we’ve read in the verses in Exodus, chapter 20, we are not to worship anything but God, which excludes Mary, the saints and angels.  This includes praying to them. I mention these three other forms of worship, which is idolatry because the Catholic faith do such things. This false religion also has idols (statues, pictures, and paintings) in their church, cathedrals and homes, of which people fall down to worship Mary, angels, and saints. They even light candles to the idols and pray to them. This is truly wicked and abominable before God and idolatry in the worst form. And in saying this, I am amazed that their are millions of Catholics deceived into doing these things and not even being aware that it is wrong. So combining what God said to Moses in the ten commandments that speak out about this vial lifestyle, we will now examine what God said to Paul in regards to worshiping angels. He said, 3“let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind.” (Colossians 2:18) As you’ve read here, to beguile somebody is to deceive them. so people that tell others to worship angels are only deceiving them and leading them astray. This is what happens when doctrines of men creep up into a church.

The Bible truly makes it clear that God deserves all our praise and worship. That is why this doctrine of worshiping God alone was taught all throughout God’s Word, including the New and Old Testament. Now, in saying this, the worship of angels can still be easily done if one appeared unto us, since they look so glorious in their appearance. John found this out for himself when we got the vision of the Marriage of the lamb by a mighty angel. And this is what happened, when the angel said, 4“let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Revelation 19:7-10) As you’ve read here, John had to be reminded that only God should be worshiped, for angels are only God’s fellow servants.

As was mentioned above, when such marvelous things are presented unto us by angels, we may want to fall down and worship them.  However, this instinct inside of us is wrong since God’s Word is clear on this subject and that it is wrong. And surprisingly, John had to be reminded a second time not to do this. Here is what happened when the angel said, 5“these sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.” (Revelation 22:6-9) So we learn that the worship of angels is wrong, since we are told by even angels to worship God alone. The can also be said for Mary and the saints. Anybody encouraging people to worship them is only teaching doctrines of men and God’s Word speaks out against it.

In conclusion, idolatry is a grave issue and sin among even so-called Christians in our day in age.  Surely, there are millions of people being led astray by the commandments and doctrines of men.  And these beliefs are not helping them one bit, but only leading them on a path to destruction, which is hell fire and damnation.  Even the Bible says, 2“but fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.” (Ephesians 5:3-5) So don’t let this type of person be you, but repent of your idolatry today, if you worship anything but God.  This might take leaving a false religion behind, such as Roman Catholicism. However, the greatest decision of all is to follow Jesus and do as His Words in the Bible says.  Be confident that your heart is for God and not what mankind have said, by reading the Bible daily and being earnest in prayer often.  And most of all, may you remember from this message that we ought to worship God alone.

Let us pray:
Lord, I pray that people of all nations will be awakened to the truth, which is found in the Bible. May these people also learn to love Your ways and not the ways of mankind. Help them to understand that beliefs and doctrines of men are dangerous and only lead to destruction. This includes worshiping idols. There is so much danger in the world we live in, not only physically but spiritually. We are fighting the battle between right and wrong each day and it makes it that much harder to know the truth when what is evil appears good. This is why, Lord, that we need to always have our eyes open to the deceitfulness of this world. And I know the only way we can do this is if we are built up in Your armor and have Your words in our hearts and in our minds. This way we will know if the teachings we learn in church come from You or not. And when we find out that teachings are not found in the Bible, help us know to question the person that is teaching and, of course, leave a false church behind. It is one thing for a person to wrongfully teach something that is contrary to God on purpose and not purposely do it. So Lord, we need people to question pastors and teachers when they have went against Your Word, and if they are not willing to see the wrong in doing so, it is also good for us to not stay with that church any longer. So may we always walk in Your light, that Your truth will always be with us. Thanks You Jesus for showing us the way. I love You. Amen.

Let us read the Bible:

1Exodus 20:1-6 (KJV)
1 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

2Ephesians 5:1-5 (KJV)
1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

3Colossians 2:16-23 (KJV)
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

4Revelation 19:1-10 (KJV)
1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
3 And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

5Revelation 22:1-9 (KJV)
1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
