Willful Sin

Any kind of sin does a lot of damage to our souls. And if that sin becomes a part of who we are, we are no longer for God but against Him. This puts us in danger of losing our salvation and going to hell when we die. This is because, as Paul said, 1“neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” What is described above is a sinful lifestyle that people have made for themselves because of the lusts of the flesh. For this reason, most people are for God only at face value, generally at church, where inside their heart they are wicked. Outside of the church’s view they may have sexual thoughts toward the opposite or own sex, look at pornography, live in a sexual relationship outside of marriage, have a sexual relationship with another person’s spouse, have homosexual sex drives, are alcoholics or spend time in the bars, do drugs, covet what they don’t need, or even steal things like download movies illegally. These things put their lives and others in jeopardy. They are also not saved by the blood of Jesus, for His blood has not covered them yet. If it had, then they would have come to Jesus in their confessions, that He may change them. He is waiting to wash them from this filth and all their shame. Only Jesus can sanctify these people and make them whole again. Then are they justified and made righteous in God’s sight.

With every willful sinner in this world, we know that only few of them will come to Jesus about their sins in prayer and repent. I just pray that people will be convicted of what they have done and come to the Lord before it is too late. This is because God’s Word has a warning to all people that decide to continue in willful sin. Paul even taught that 2“if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” I pray that what is taught here will sink into your heart and convict you of your sins, if you are also living in sin. It ought to awaken you to no longer live this way. God’s punishments are real and I do not want anyone to end up in hell someday. I know that Jesus can help anyone change their life, if they but put their trust in Him. And if you are in sin, please also repent today, that your sins may be forgiven.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that we may all live a life that pleases You and no longer live for the lusts of the flesh. I know that sin leads to death and destruction and I no longer want to be a part of it. Therefore, see inside my heart and convict me of any sin that is contrary to Your will. Help me to understand how this affects my relationship with You and my family. Surely, I never want to do anything that brings Your wrath upon me or hurt others. So this day, I come clean with You about my life, my sins, what I’ve done wrong and confess them all to You now. Take me as I am Lord and make me whole again. Forgive me and wash me clean of every sin, through Your blood. Lead me out of temptation and the dangers of this world. I wish to walk in Your light and no longer be manhandled by the lusts of the flesh. I am more stronger with You Lord. Your desires for my life are what truly make me happy and I am tired of living in guilt and shame. What You counsel me in,is what I need, in order to have peace, as I have had enough of the baggage this world offers. I know that it is not the same as the righteous life that You would wish to have us live. Instead, the world masquerades what is evil as good and I am sorry for doing such things. My life has been greatly affected by this and I no longer wish to hurt You. My heart is no longer for what has taken me down the wrong path, for I wish to only live for You now. May Your words and commandments be written upon my heart always. This way I will be reminded about how to truly love You and honor You. This I pray that my lips and heart will ever be for You and to be a light to this world. I love You more Lord. Amen.
