Type Of Witness

How can I preach the gospel if I am walking in sin and of the world? This is not a life of an evangelist and I have no part in God’s harvest if I am living this way. If I am not for Jesus, then the Holy Spirit is not present and my preaching or teaching is made void. So anybody that wishes to be a disciple of Christ, must also be a follower of Him. If not, then they are not only hypocrites of God’s Word, but also a liar and a deceiver. As Paul said, 2“even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.” Please know that not only can people see through our masquerade, but God can as well. He looks upon the heart and if our heart is wicked, then we have no right to be on the streets calling people to repentance. Instead, we ought to be made right with God first and then be led to go into the harvest by the Holy Spirit. Anything else is a person just doing their own thing, of which God does not approve. We truly do more harm in a person’s life by saying and doing things that God is not for but against. This is why it is so important to always be seeking God and striving to live in His light and not in darkness. Any other kind of lifestyle is not fit for God’s kingdom.

When we go out and witness for Christ it should always be with integrity and with God’s approval in the matter. We should never do it for gain or vain glory. There is nothing good in this at all. To go out and evangelize while living in sin is also very wrong. As Jesus said, 1“woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.” As evangelists, we do not want to be on the same level as the Scribes and Pharisees. This would not be building up God’s kingdom but only tearing it down. So if you want to be on God’s side, then be cleansed through Jesus’s blood and found reading His Word daily and praying often. Then you will learn to give Him all the glory. In the good times and bad, continue in the faith, for God is our strength. As Paul said, 2“suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.” Learn to live for Jesus and love as He loves. This will you serve others with kindness. And when your mouse is opened, the Holy Spirit will speak through you.

Let us pray:
Lord, it is truly amazing to go into Your harvest and lead people to know You. It is a blessing to see lives changed and see them give their whole heart to You. In this life, my family brings me great joy but nothing is greater than being Your first hand witness for the gospel. Your Words bring me the greatest joy ever. Because Your ways are righteous and I am led by You, I am made clean through Your blood. My conscience is clear because You are working in my life. Not too long ago You came and heard my prayers and cleansed me of all my sins. And because of this, all my guilt and shame has been swept away. This life is so much better. I have discovered my spiritual gifts and You have strengthened me daily in them. Because I am made clean, going into Your harvest is not frightening but amazing in every way. I’ve been given great courage and boldness to proclaim Your gospel message. I love to start conversations with people about You, Lord, for I know there is salvation in the name of Jesus. And best of all, the Holy Spirit is able to lead me to the lost and give me words to speak to them. I may not have much to say, but Your words of wisdom flow through me and into the lives of everyone I touch. For this reason, I give You all the glory. I am only Your hands and feet and the people that are touched are affected by You, God. I love Your ways and give You all the praise. Amen.

29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,

17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
