Judgment On Jerusalem

Because of the wickedness of the people of Jerusalem, the Lord God’s judgements were upon them. Surely, His wrath was made evident as He spoke through the prophet Isaiah. Where they were once protected by the hand of God, they were no longer under His care, for they have forsaken Him. And because they left the Lord, their God, and decided to walk in their own ways, they set themselves up for their just punishments. Isaiah records, 1“the Lord, the Lord of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water.” And who is the bread of life? Jesus. Who holds the living waters? Jesus. Therefore, the Lord Jesus’s protection was no longer over them. And here is why this all happened, as recorded by Isaiah, 1“for Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of his glory. The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.” What an awful thing, as to deliberately walk in their sexual sins when they know it is abominable in the sight of God. How arrogant these people were, as to not hide their sins but walk in them, for all to see.

What I just mentioned should not be anything surprising to the day in age we live in. People now do the same things as these people did then. Think about the gay festivals, parades, bars, TV and movies. Their evil deeds are everywhere and they do not hide their feelings for one another. And what is sad is that people are dying young because of this. Aids is caused but such vile acts and anyone living in sexual sin, such as this, should not be surprised by the diseases they get from it. Surely, the Lord God is not happy and therefore, these wicked people are afflicted, based on their bad decisions. Now people that watch pornography, fornicate and commit adultery are also in the wrong and God’s wrath is upon them also, left they repent as well. To those that turn from their sins and live in the light of the Lord, these are those that are saved and have no need to fear. Isaiah records, 1“say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.” However, 1“woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.” If you think God is standing by idly while people sin, think again. Isaiah recorded the following, 1“the Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.” He does plead for our souls but it is up to us to repent and come unto Him.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, there is so much sin in this world and we need Your armor to cover us, lest we fall into it. I know that I am not able to stand uprightly unless Your presence is over me. I am a victim to the temptations that are all around me. Lord, help me withstand the wickedness of this world. May I be a light to the people and not fall into the darkness therein. Instead, use me to scatter the darkness that many people that are lost may find refuge in Your love, dear Lord. Sexual sin is truly killing people’s lives, spiritually and physically and I wish that people no longer have to suffer. I pray that I may find such people that are in bondage and lead them to Your light. May they turn from their wicked ways and come unto You Lord. I know that You are our Savior and can heal anyone that has a humble heart. You have changed my life and that is a testament that anyone can be healed. As I was wicked as anyone could get, I know that You, Lord, are so gracious to forgive. Thank You for Your forgiveness and mercy. I am saved by Your grace. I love You Lord. Amen.
