The Coming Of The Lord

The second coming of our Lord Jesus is surely going to be a site to see. Soon, all the world will be utterly shocked when Jesus comes in the clouds, in all His glory. In that moment, everyone will know that what they have heard and been taught over the years was correct. And at the same time, people will instantly be in tears for the many sins they have committed. They may say to themselves, why did I wait? Why did I not believe? Why did I neglect God’s Word and not obey it? This will surely be a difficult day for the wicked. Maybe for the first time ever will they be humbled and scatter with fear. As for the righteous of God, there will be no fear. Their hearts will be full of gladness and great joy. There coming King has come and they will rejoice. As they look to the Lord their God, they will look around and see the wicked run to and fro for fear. These people will try to find a way to escape but there will be nowhere to hide. Isaiah records, that 1“the lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.” The proud will lower themselves and give God the glory, on this day. Isaiah continues, 1“for the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low.” If you or anyone thinks that this is not possible, think again. The Lord God rules supreme in the heavens and the earth. And on this day, every person will fall down on their knees and worship the Lord Jesus.

The day of our Lord God will be a great day for those that waited on Him and therefore were made righteous through their faith. Their willingness to serve the living God will not be unnoticed. Their desire to learn from the Bible and live it out is counted as righteous in God’s sight. Their prayers and kind deeds for those that are less fortunate are seen and the angels rejoice. These people are God’s children and will be with the Lord in that day. As for the wicked, their story will be much different. As we know, the happiness that the world offers never lasts. However, what it does have are many things to keep us preoccupied and take away our precious time from God. Such things as phones, tablets, TVs, gaming systems, computers, sports stars, and music artists have become people’s idols. These things can be used for God’s glory, but this is not the intent of most people that live in this world. Unfortunately, these things take away from their time with God. And in the day of the Lord God, He will destroy every idol. Isaiah records, 1“the idols he shall utterly abolish. And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats.” They will no longer have need of such things and will feel so bad for worshiping them and not God. What a field day this will be. Prepare now before it is too late.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, my God, thank You for Your blessings. Thank You for giving me such peace in times of need. Even when I am sick and everything seems too difficult to bear, You come and bear me up and I am comforted. I look to You Lord for only You have the answers I need to go forward in life. What the world offers is temporary and I need something that lasts. That is Your love. Your love moves me to live differently. It gives me a purpose and helps move and shape my life. I fall short all the time but with Your presence in my life, nothing can get in my way. Temptation has no match to Your armor. Your power can do all things in my life. This is what I need. Please come Lord and allow this love to shine through me. May Your love impact many lives for the good. Your kindness can do great things in the lives of others and I pray that I will be Your servant. I trust in You God. I look to You in faith and desire to live in Your light always. I can’t wait for Your coming. It will be a great day indeed. I will be in tears as You God, my King of Glory, come in the clouds in all Your glory. In that day, I will worship You forevermore. I worship You now and that same worship will never end. You are everything to me now and forever. I love You. Amen.
