TV And Movies Have Gone Too Far

TV and movies have gone too far. They truly have become sick and wrong now a days. There is so much bad language and filth in most of them. No wonder why this world is so dark. Even some Christian movies, I’ve seen, are terrible at that. For example, the movie “King David” (1985) was looking pretty good until it showed not only a sex scene with David and his first wife, but also Bashiba naked, while she was outside bathing. To me, this is only Hollywood and other people going way too far with what the Bible says. If any of them were living a life for Christ, they would have known how wrong those two scenes would be and not included them. Instead, this movie, like others, have some good points and then infiltrates a good thing with scenes that are abominable before God. Even Jesus would be upset with such a movie as he said, 1“whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Can’t you see now what this movie and others are doing? They are causing people to commit adultery with their eyes. Sure, some can resist and turn off the movie but others are not able to so easily and in that moment there lust is in full force. And for Hollywood to slap a PG-13 sticker on this movie is an insult to true Christians everywhere. Anyhow, remember that this movie is supposed to be a Christian movie and if some of them are evil, what makes non-Christian movies or TV Shows? Think this through a little and you will come to know that most of them are also evil. For this reason, I have chosen to stay away from the TV and movie scene. It is not worth having the Holy Spirit be quenched by something I just watched.

When it comes to staying away from TV and movies, a verse comes to find. Paul said, 2“now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” So we know from scripture that such things are evil and those that practice such things are going to hell. Now for you that are in the faith, you will see that the works of the flesh are made manifest in the mainstream world we live in and the TV sets we watch. Now let me ask you this. When was the last TV Show or Movie that you did not see a sex scene or have sexual innuendos, witches, killing, swear words and or drunkenness? The answer is, it is hard to find a show that excludes all of this. And why is this? It is because Satan has his clutches on the shows we watch. As he is many times so subtle when it comes to temptation. As many shows look so enticing, he then throws in something that is obscene. People then often excuse these actions, after the fact. They may say, “oh, it was just once scene. There weren’t that many cuss words. The killing was necessary. Because of what happened, the person became drunk.” These are all excuses people make when watching such filth. Instead of standing up for what is righteous and holy, the person lifts up what is evil. I pray that this generation wakes up to the wickedness of this world and no longer makes excuses for things. When you notice there is wickedness in what you see, run from it.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, my heart sinks because of the wickedness in this world. I am so sick and tired of seeing such filth on TV that I just want to scream out. I’ve had enough of Satan’s deceptions and no longer wish to quench the Spirit, God. You mean more to me than to be a part of this world and find pleasure in wickedness. Thank You for spelling out what is evil, that I may turn from it and warn others also. I am afraid of what TV and Movies have already done to people of the faith and wish that they would wake up to the wickedness that is in them. May we all no longer walk the fine line of what is right and wrong but go all in for You, Jesus. It is not worth justifying our sinful actions when these things only lead to our downfall come judgement day. Lord, shield our eyes. Help us turn away when we know what we are watching is wrong. Light a fire inside of us that when there is anything that is immoral in nature, that we run from it. I know that it is better to live a life for You then to live a life of fear and shame. You bring joy and happiness while this world only brings pain. I trust in You God. I love You. Amen.

1Matthew 5:27-30 (KJV)
27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

2Galatians 5:16-26 (KJV)
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
