The Cross And The Resurrection

I love the Lord with all my heart and soul. With everything I am, I give God praise. It is a pleasure to serve Him, for He is my rock and my firm foundation. My confidence is in the One that saves and never fails me. The Lord is my life and brings joy to my soul. I am carried away in anthems of praise, just thinking of Jesus and what He has done for me. I am moved by His compassion for us all. What He did for us on the cross, means the world to me. His sacrifice will always be cherished and never forgotten. For my sins are forgiven because of what the Lord Jesus did for me. It is such a blessing to know that Jesus took me in. I gave Him my heart and my soul and my life has never been the same again. It is such a blessing to know that 1“Christ died for our sins”, as Paul said. He is so merciful for us as sinners. I give thanks to the Lord for His great love. I look to Him for answers, for I know that He is there for me. He is my help and my dearest friend and never lets me down. There is safety in my soul. To know the message of the cross, puts my heart at ease. For I know that the Lord has already paid the price for my sins. Because I have repented, I am now restored into His fold and can experience the Holy Spirit in my life. I am so blessed.

What has brought me closer to Christ than ever before is understanding the true meaning of the cross and also His resurrection. Jesus suffered and died for our sins on the cross. And the third day, after his death, He rose from the dead. 1“He was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve.” Another time, 1“he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once,” as Paul said. And after visiting with James and His apostles, Paul also saw Him. The resurrection of Jesus was recorded in scripture and there were many eye witnesses to this event. Just like so many witnessed Jesus paying the price for their sins on the cross. These two events are so important that Paul declares that they are the gospel message. And there is a big reason for this. Without Jesus coming into this world, we would be lost forever. We’d be continually looking for a Savior to come. However, the Messiah did come and His Name was Jesus. The Lord of all took upon flesh. He humbled Himself to come down to this earth, in order pay the ransom for us all. Our sins are heavy but He took them all upon Him. He bore them up so that we can be set free. I give praise to the Lord for coming into my life and setting me free from all my bondage. I was once dead but am alive through the blood of Jesus.

Let us pray:
Oh how I love You, Jesus. You are my Lord and the One who gives life. Thank You for coming into my life. You have saved my soul from hell. All the darkness has been scattered and Your light has come in to show me the way. I am secure in this fallen world, for You are with me. Because You heard my cries and had mercy for my sins, my shame is gone. Now my life is filled with Your love. Thank You for the cross. Thank You for dying for my sins, that I might be forgiven and set free. Thank You for rising from the dead. Because You did rise, there is hope for tomorrow. I have faith in a risen Lord, for You are alive today. And because of what You have done, I am a new creation. In baptism, I have died to myself and am now alive in You. Your death, burial and resurrection, I have felt and has become who I am today. What You have done for me has overwhelmed my soul. My soul has been set on fire, because of the Holy Spirit that You have brought into my life. My hopes and dreams are alive and You have made it all happen. I look to You for answers, for I trust in You. You are everything to me Lord. I love You. Amen.
