When Do You Come To God?

Can you imagine God speaking to you like a father? I will say that it is awesome and breathtaking but not everyone in this life has this opportunity. It does not mean that the Lord loves that person any less. It just means that they don’t put forth the effort to know God personally. Other things are more important in their lives. He is not their top priority but simply a person they go to when needed. Think of it has road side assistance. How many of you have it and use it all the time? Not many. It is a convenience thing to get us out of trouble. In time of need, we use it and rely on it. Compare this to God for a minute. So many people also come to Him in time of need. They are not too interested in His wisdom or understanding, but when they need it, they come to Him. God is used more as a crutch than anything else. Their heart is not truly given to Christ. And because of this, they do not know Him. The Lord cannot speak to them, because their hearts are not for Him. All God asks is that you give Him a chance and receive His words. That just for one minute, you 1“incline thine ear unto wisdom”. Understand a need for the Lord in your life. It is only when you 1“apply thine heart to” God, for understanding, is when the Lord can speak to you. If you wish to know how to walk “the paths of uprightness,” then understand your need for the Lord. You may be a transgressor now but God’s hand can change all that.

Hearing the Father speak to our hearts is vital to our salvation. How can we even think that we are saved if the Lord is not with us? If you want to obtain the knowledge of God, first 1“understand the fear of the Lord”. When we fear Him, we also obey Him. We call upon His Name often. He is more than a crutch but our Savior. Give God, our King, respect. Come unto Him, for wisdom. Cry out in prayer and You will be filled with the Holy Spirit. His presence will come over you and help you may know the truth of God. You will understand, in a big way, that 1“the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.” Every time you look to God and pray, you will find direction. Understand that He is always waiting. When you decide that you need more to life, the Holy Spirit will come. You will begin to know what God has to say for your life. If you desire now to hear what God the Father would have to say for your life, then come unto Him. No longer use Him like a crutch but truly seek Him, at all times. If you have a Bible, then start reading today. If you do not or prefer to read the Bible online, there is Bible (plus audio version), on my site. I pray that you do read the Bible. Do so with a prayer in your heart. These two things will elevate your desires to follow the Lord. You will be less inclined to do evil, for Your shield of faith will be elevated.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people no longer come to You as a crutch. May people have a desire now to pray and worship You. Help them realize that there is no salvation when You are not a part of their lives. You are the only way to heaven and seeking You must be important. I was lost for many years, living my own life, trying my own things and continually falling into the same rut. I could not overcome the temptations of the devil. Sure, I came to You in time of need but it was never enough. I am grateful that my desires and thoughts have changed. When I finally gave my heart to You, there was new life. I had the power to overcome the evil one. My head knowledge was nothing compared to what You had to share with me. I was on the wrong path to destruction but You have placed me on the right path. There is light in my life and it is all because of You. If I am happy and full of joy then You have done it. I owe all to You, Jesus. I love You. Amen.
