Worship The Lord Jesus

To worship Jesus, our Lord, is not a new thing. Jesus is Lord and we ought to worship Him. He is 3“at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” Who placed Jesus there? God the Father, of course. David wrote, 1“The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.” God the Father, Lord, said to His only begotten Son, Jesus, who is Lord, and made Him ruler over all things. David knew the Son of God was Lord. He may not have known His Name would be called Jesus, but He still knew that He was Lord of all. Worshiping His King was so important. Jesus even quoted from David, after being approached by some Pharisees. He said, 2“What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?” Jesus’s answer tells of His Lordship and power. David would never call Jesus his son but Lord. Jesus came from David’s lineage but even before this, He ruled the heavens and earth and David knew Him as His Lord and King. All throughout Psalms, David praised the Lord. His praises rang out in honor to the Lord’s holy Name.

We learn of the Lord Jesus’s power when it is written, 1“The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.” Everyone that believes in Jesus, He is there strength. The Lord is their Savior, the rock of their salvation. He gives them peace and sustains them when times are hard. He also rules over the enemies. Those that deny the importance of Jesus or disregard the importance to believe in Him, His wrath is upon them. 1“The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.” Even His 1“people shall be willing in the day of” the Lord’s power to lift up the Name of Jesus. They will not let His Name be diminished or trodden under in any form. God’s faithful servants will fight for His cause. They will allow the Lord to lead them. Jesus is our high priest, 1“for ever after the order of Melchizedek.” We can look to Him in prayer. Similar to the priests of old, He has offered His life for a ransom for our sins. He was the last sin offering, that we might live. Through His blood, that was spilt on the cross, we are forgiven. His mercy is upon all those that call upon His Name. He is also just. Jesus is our judge. Who is on the Lord’s side, will be saved. Who is not, will be damned. This life can be hard but 3“we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, It is a great pleasure to know You and to praise Your holy Name. To give Your honor and praise is the least I can do for what You have done for mankind. Thank You for the cross. I am forever changed because of Your blood. Thank You for your mercy and forgiveness. I am alive because of You. I know that You are God, for You have given me life. You are my Lord and I rejoice in Your holy Name. Jesus, You are my Savior. You are my King. Thank You for Your strength. I am comforted to know You and have You in my life. You give me hope. You are the bearer of all good things. I am so blessed to be part of Your plan. Nobody can separate me from Your love. I am Yours forever. I love You Lord. Amen.
