Be Open And Cast Aside Your Idols

What we learn from the Bible is that God reigneth high above all things. He is exalted above mankind. He is majestic in everything He does. The God of the heavens has come to save us all from our sins. We are important and God knows us by name. He shows mercy to all people that come to Him. Each of us are counted worthy in His sight as we put our trust in Him 1“The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.” If you have been saved from your addictions, then rejoice in the Lord. We have much to be grateful for. We are not forgotten. The Lord loves us all so much. As God rules the heavens and the earth, His grace is also extended for all. Even 1“the heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.” 2The angels rejoice, each time, a lost sheep is found. You were all a part of this lost crowd. How grateful you must be, if you have been forgiven. Jesus, wants to help us all, but to be found, we must first repent. We must know of His love and reach for it. Once this happens, He can do the rest. The Lord God can do amazing things for our lives, but we must first open our hearts. Be willing to listen to His counsel and do as He commands. A wise person listens to God and obeys.

Let the Lord show you what needs to go and what can stay. It would be foolish to disregard God and continue to walk in your own ways. This is foolishness and only leads to destruction. The Holy Spirit will lead you to life. Follow the Spirit and put aside anything contrary to God. 3Idolatry is a big deal to God and all idolaters will be excluded from heaven. For this reason, allow the Lord to show you what is coming before Him. It may be an actual graven image or something else that is just taking your time away from Him. Things like Phones, TV and Computers are ok to use but we must not put them above God. If your time is taken away from God in these things, then they have become an idol. David declared, 1“Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods. Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.” If we desire to be saved then your heart needs to be changed. Learn to hate evil and fight against it at all costs. Confide in God that you may know what He loves and hates. The Lord will show you the way. Rejoice, if you are being led by the Lord now. Remember Him always and 1“give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness”.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, thank You for showing me what is wrong and what displeases You. I am grateful to know this. Help me to stray far away from those things. Help me to not fall back into my old ways but continue in the new life You’ve given me. I do not wish any idols to come before You. You are worth more. I pray that I may prioritize my time better. Help me to focus on You more than anything else. Help me to shift my focus from my own wants and desires and to love one another. Your will is that we love You and others with all our hearts. I know that if I am wrapped up in my own lustful desires, I will fall off track. Help me stay strong in You. Keep me focused on what is most important in life. Help me to build for Your kingdom and not on things that I can’t take with me after death. Thank You for putting better thoughts and desires in my mind and my heart. I will follow Your counsel. Your ways are my ways. I love You. Amen.
