Walking In The Ways Of The Lord

I love the ways of the Lord. I have never been happier than to know His counsel and to walk in His ways. My heart cries out in honor and praise for the good things the Lord has done in my life. Where I go, I go with the Lord. I go to be with Him, for He leads me. David also loved God’s ways. Hear his cries to God when he said, 1“How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.” His heart’s desire was to be forever with the Lord. I love His admiration to follow God. Once he was convicted of his sins and repented, his life was never the same. He continually rejoiced in the Lord’s goodness. What was more amazing was his shift in desires. Once his heart was changed, he also desired others to know the Lord. He declared, 1“Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah. Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.” As you can see, he knew God’s ways were lifesaving and loved to see others coming to know Him as well. What a wonderful example to us. I pray that we could also showcase the same love that Jesus has given us towards others. 2Know that this is also a commandment from God.

David taught that those that love God 1“go from strength to strength”. They may have been shy in certain areas but God gives them boldness. And the longer they abide in the Lord and do His will, their faith grows stronger each and every day. Walking in the commands of God is how we can truly know Him for ourselves. As we commune with God, our hearts become knit with Him. Our ears are open to His desires. Listen to David’s prayer when his heart was given to God in prayer, 1“O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah. Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.” He surely didn’t want to recite a prayer but desired God’s utmost attention. He also didn’t want to dwell in sin but to be in God’s holiness. He could not achieve this on his own. Communing with the Lord was his only sustainable option. David said, 1“For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” He took everything the Lord offered with thanks. We ought to also be like David and put our trust in God. 1“Blessed is the man that trusteth in” God.

Let us pray:
Lord, I love Your ways. I love Your commandments and how they have changed me. Your counsels are better than good. They are awesome. I am ecstatic when You give me wisdom. Your words, in the Bible, are more than words. They speak to my heart and help me know how to live. I was once lost and never had hope for tomorrow. Now that You are in my life, hope is everywhere I can see. My eyes have truly been opened. This hope leads me to do greater things than I ever thought were possible. Because of the boldness You put in my heart, I am stronger. My weaknesses are now my strengths for You lead me. How honorable are Your ways, oh Lord. My soul cries out in praises because of Your presence in my life. I rejoice for Your great love and affection towards me. I can feel Your mercy and grace. You sustain me. It is the Holy Spirit that helps me showcase this same love towards others. May I never forget to display this gift of love. Lead me and direct my path. I need You in my life. I am truly happy when You are with me. I love You. Amen.
