Prayer For The Persecuted

Lord, I pray for all the Christians throughout the world. I especially cry out to You, Lord, for those that are suffering because of their faith. Isis has been persecuting Christians in the Middle East and safety is hard to find. They are being harmed in ways that it is so gruesome for me to even explain. I know Lord that You know all things and this is well known to You and Your angels. As David spoke out about this in his times past, I also pray, 1“Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.” David’s prayer is so true to our time now. It isn’t just the Middle East but in many places, Lord. Just to lift up Your Name is enough to get killed. It is a worthy death to die for You Lord. I 2“fear not them which kill the body”. 3To die in Your Name, I am not ashamed, for Your gospel is true. I just pray, this hour, that the hearts of our enemies may be softened. Know that 1“they have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.” It is a grievous thing to see. There is so much evil and we need Your help Lord. Don’t let them get the better hand in this fight. May the faithful stand strong in this battle.

Lord, if the hearts of our enemies cannot be softened, I pray that a greater affliction may also come upon them. That they may know that trifling with God and His people has dire consequences. 1“So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.” May the fear of God enter their hearts. 1“Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O Lord.” It would be amazing to see this shift of desires in their hearts and minds. I know that all this can happen by of the Holy Spirit. If they do not listen and still desire to afflict Your people, come at them hard. Use Your people and 1“Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish. That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth.” You are mightier than any warrior on earth. Nobody can match Your power. With that same power in our lives, we can overcome all things. Lord, lift up the weary. Those that are being afflicted. Help them find refuge. Dry their tears and carry their sorrows, that they may be light. May others in the faith help console those that have lost so much. I trust in You, Lord. You are my hope and my strength. I love You. Amen.

1Psalm 83 (KJV)
1 Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.
9 Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
10 Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
12 Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
13 O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
14 As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
16 Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O Lord.
17 Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth.

2Matthew 10:16-28 (KJV)
16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

3Romans 1:15-18 (KJV)
15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
