Fallen Into Sin? Repent!

When we fall into sin, what matters most is what we do next. We can either continue in the flesh or repent and humbly come back to God. Each option we choose will either have a reward or consequence. When we continue to pursue the lusts of the flesh we are disregarding God’s laws. Though our conscience is telling us what we are doing is wrong, we continue in our own ways. 5When we sin, it is right to be sorry for it. Don’t act against these feelings. Doing this long term can lead people to disregard the shame and guilt that comes along with sin. These types of people tend to justify what they are doing. Even before God, they may say that what they do elsewhere for Him counteracts their sinful nature. What is really sad is when people start to come up with their own rules that justify their means, even though it is against God’s commandments and teachings. This is a dark and slippery path. If people do not wake up and repent, then only hell awaits them. Can you imagine, living a life of sin and then dying in that fashion. You would soon find yourself before the throne room of God in judgement. You’d be absolutely terrified! As it becomes your turn to be judged, you’d hear Jesus say, 1“I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” You’d then be sent off to eternal destruction in hell. Don’t let this happen to you. Don’t put off the day of your repentance. The time is now to make yourself right with God.

6The Bible teaches that habitual sinners will not inherit the kingdom of God. However, this doesn’t mean we won’t ever sin. Whenever we put down our guard is when sin can creep into our lives. Satan can then, more easily, tempt us with what our flesh really enjoys. When we fall into sin, do not let the flesh take over and continue therein. Sure, you let your guard down and fell flat on your face, but stand up once again. Reach out to God that He might pull you out of the evil situation you got yourself in. Stand up for Jesus and let Him help you. You can’t make yourself right on your own. 2Jesus is calling you to repentance. Will you follow His command? 3Let your faith be raised that your sins may be blotted out. Recommit your lives to follow Jesus Christ. Confess your sins to Him and ask for forgiveness. 4“Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Ask that you not fall victim to this same sin over and over again. If His mercy falls upon you, then no longer follow sin but the light of Christ. Get back on the path of righteousness. Walk straight ahead towards Christ. Lay down your sins at the feet of Jesus and follow Him. Let the Lord take the sins that you have fallen victim to. If you are sincere, God will break the chains of addiction in your hearts. When we return to follow the Lord, the Spirit of God will come back into our lives like a wild fire. 7He will lead us on the path that leads to eternal life in heaven.

Let us pray:
Lord, if anyone has fallen into sin, help them come overcome it and trust in You for help. I acknowledge that I am weak and often fall into sin when I disregard Your ways. Help me to always come back to You when I go off course. My flesh desires things that are unholy. Come inside of me and cast away all darkness. Be with me, that I may no longer fall victim to the same sin. I am sorry to have wronged you so many times. Please forgive me. Lord, accept my confession and have mercy upon me. I give my life to follow You. Lead me on Your path. Help me overcome the temptations of this world. You are more important than anything else. I re-commit my life to follow You. I love You. Amen.

25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
