Depart From Evil, And Do Good

4There are two paths in life. One path in Christ the Lord, where we are made righteous through His blood. Another path in the world, where evil fills our hearts and minds. One way leads to eternal life in heaven and the other leads to eternal destruction in hell. Nothing is determined until our last breath but no one knows what tomorrow leads. We could hope for another good week or year but we may not even have that much time. 5Wouldn’t it be great if you were to great Jesus in heaven with robes of righteousness, being washed clean through the blood of the Lamb? What a glorious day this would be to be found worthy to be in the presence of the Lord. A life in Christ will lead us on this path. Our faith in Jesus will help us know what is right and what is wrong. More importantly, we will be able to do what is right for Jesus is our shield. It won’t be a struggle but a joy to live for our King. On the other hand, it will be devastating to go before the Lord in judgement if we are were not forgiven. We’d be trembling with fear because of the destination we chose. A life without the guidance of Jesus and His words will lead us on this wide path. No faith or no relationship with Jesus will make it impossible to live for Him. When temptation comes, we won’t have the power to resist it. That is why it is so important to 2“depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.” Only Jesus can help us do this. Seek the Lord and you will find the path that leads to eternal life in heaven.

1Know that God can see our hearts. He knows our true desires by how we live our lives. If our passion isn’t to serve Him, He knows. When the Lord finds someone seeking His face, He is thrilled. These are those that pursue Him over the things of this world. 3They’d rather be filled with light than darkness. Their prayers are heart felt. When they are doing well they give thanks to God. Giving praise to the Lord on high comes naturally. Even when times are hard, their tears fill their pillows, waiting on the Lord for peace. God recognizes His children that truly love Him. 2“The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.” Those that are broken will be filled with His love. 2“The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.” He delivers us from all anxiety when we trust in Him. The wicked don’t have this luxury. They find ways to mask their pains in different ways but it never lasts. Sometimes, in their loneliness, they simply desire a friend to console them. People can feel so depressed when life is taking a turn for the worst. This is untrue for the faithful of God. They are never left alone. The Spirit of God is always with them to keep them safe. Their cries are heard and the peace of God is made known in their hearts. This is because we are His and are made holy in His presence. 2“The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.” How amazing is it to be favored of God.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, help us pursue what is good and not what is evil. Give us wise counsel to follow in Your ways and not the world. Open our hearts to receive your words of wisdom. Help us to better pursue You through prayer and reading the Bible. We want to know You better. We want to know what is Your will for our lives. Hear our cries, oh Lord. We need You now. Deliver us from sin. Help us walk on the path that leads to life. Cast out all darkness and lead us in Your light. Lead us safely home to heaven. We can’t make it on our own. Forgive us our sins. We confess our faults to You this day. Have mercy upon us that we may be washed clean through Your blood. Be the Lord of our lives. I will follow You. You are my King and I worship You. I love You. Amen.

24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

5Revelation 7:9-17 (KJV)
9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
