Victor’s Baptism

Praise God! Another soul was saved tonight. My brother in Christ, Victor, made a decision to follow Jesus and was baptized. Jaron and I had talked about this day and prayed about it but never knew it would come so fast. All I know is that God works in His in own time. The Spirit moved and when asked if he wanted to be baptized, he said yes. This all happened after going to visit with Victor at his house. Our plans were to invite him to “Words of Freedom”, a church group, for recovering addicts. Though at first he didn’t want to go, after a few encouraging words he decided to go. The Holy Spirit spoke to him in that moment and he went with it. Before we left, we prayed for his mom who is not feeling very well. I asked if she had faith to be healed and she said yes. So we prayed that whatever that is causing her illness might leave. If her drinking alcohol is a cause, for her to have a desire to stop. After the prayer, we each hugged her and then went off to church. At church, I was very encouraged by the teaching on sin. Jesus paid the price for all our sins that we might be made clean. Victor had some questions and each time was encouraged by what the Word of God said. After the teaching had finished, Clint and Chris came to talk to Victor. What they said to him was very encouraging. They told him that God understands his fears and to give them all to him. We then prayed that Satan wound not have control over him any longer and that he’d be freed from his addictions.

After that meeting ended, Jaron, Victor and I went into a prayer room with the other guys that were evangelizing. Upon entering, I introduced Victor to them all. We then talked to Victor and asked him where he felt he was at spiritually. He said not very good but wanted to changed, starting today. Jason, asked him if we could teach him the commands of Christ. Which he said yes. We also asked if we could make church in his home, which he said, of course. You could see that his heart was for God. In his own words, he said, “I need Him more than ever”. After Jason heard this, he asked him about baptism. After thinking about this, he at first wanted to plan it. Then after asking him if he wanted to do it now, he said why not. Since his heart is for God there was no need to wait. So we went to the baptismal font and noticed there was water in it. It was there that Victor made the biggest decision of his life. He was sick and tired of falling victim to sin. He wanted every chain to be broken. So as Victor got baptized by Jaron his faith was made known to God. Speaking of Jesus, he was 1“buried with him in baptism” and then 1“risen with him through the faith of the operation of God.” His old life was given up along with his sins. Jesus, 1“nailing it to his cross”. How merciful is the Lord for his forgiveness.

Let us pray:
Thank You Lord for Victor. He made the biggest step of life tonight. I pray that he never forgets this day. I pray that this is just the start of a beautiful journey with You. Bring Him, every day, closer to You. I love You. Amen.
