The Resurrection Of Jesus

Today we remember the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is a time to reflect on all the Lord has done for us. My thoughts turn to the cross at Calvary. Where Jesus paid for our sins. How grateful I am to have Jesus suffer for my transgressions, for they are many. Oh, how I’d be lost forever if He hadn’t restored my life. The Holy Spirit declares that Jesus is alive. I don’t need evidence for the Bible has spoken this to my heart. Jesus did rise from the dead, the third day. His teachings were fulfilled when He overcame death. He first appeared to Mary, at the tomb and then His disciples. That encounter reads, “when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.” He showed them His scars and then breathed on them the Holy Spirit. Thomas, another disciple, had just walked into the room, after Jesus had left. Though He was told that Jesus was just there he didn’t believe but needed evidence. Eight days later, Jesus appeared to all of them, this time, and He said the following to Thomas, “Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.” In that moment, He was convicted and said to Jesus, “My Lord and my God”. However, Jesus responded, “Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”

By nature, many people are speculative of the truth of God. They need real evidence before they will believe. However, there is proof and that is through the Holy Spirit. If these people would just open their hearts to God they would see Jesus for who He is. He would come into their lives and restore them into fullness of life. Their sins would be forgiven. All it takes is an open heart to the Lord’s commands and our lives will change forever. Let Jesus’s words ring true in your hearts, “blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed”. Believe in Jesus. In hard times, seek Him and He will be there. He knows our every trial we face. His peace will sustain you when times are hard. My heart is so grateful for Jesus. I know He is my Savior. Through His resurrection, I’ve been given newness of life. The story of His resurrection speaks to His goodness. John recorded, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. There is eternal life only found in Jesus. Those that call upon His Name will be saved. Turn from your sins and offer your lives to Him. He is the author of our salvation. Thank You Lord for the cross. Through Your sufferings my life has changed forever. I can feel Your mercy and grace. Thank You for Your resurrection. Because You rose, my life is made new. You are my Savior and King. I will wait for You my Lord. I can’t wait to one day rise and see You in heaven. I love You.

John 20:18-31 (KJV)
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
