Evangelize: Downtown Boise With Preaching

Tonight, as we went out to share the good news of Jesus I could feel that God had something special in store tonight. He would give me extra courage to share His gospel to the lost. So tonight, I felt the tug and did as He had me do. As we walked the streets, I met this couple, passing by, and offered them a devotional card. I told them that on the website they can get daily messages centered on Jesus. His response was, “thank you so much. Can I have another card to give to my wife? We’d both love to check it out.” I told them, “of course. God bless you”, and gave her a card too. It was amazing to see their willingness to seek the Lord. As we rounded the street corner we saw lines of people waiting to go to a concert. As I walked near them I could hear the Lord directing me to talk with each of them. So I started asking people if they wanted a card on Jesus. Some accepted the invite and took a card and others scoffed at the idea. It was then that God gave me boldness to preach His message to the people in the line. So I opened my mouth and lifted up the Bible in my hand. I asked if anyone was reading it and knew what it was but no one said yes. I then declared that it is the Word of God and that it is the only book that God speaks through. That it is alive and we can only know God’s will through reading it. I then went on to speak about Jesus. That He is the only way to heaven. That nothing we obtain on earth will bring us true fulfillment. That when we covet things we don’t need, we are distancing ourselves from God. I asked them all to come to Jesus and accept His free gift of salvation on the cross. It was a blessing to preach the gospel and see people’s faces change as the Holy Spirit touched their hearts.

It surely was amazing to see so many people listen to the Word of God, this night. Near the crowds, in the line, was this homeless man who was willing to hear God’s Word. He had been struggling with alcohol addiction but was willing to know what God had to say about it. I told him that our bodies are a temple and we need to treat them this way. That drunkards will not inherit the kingdom of God. That anything we take into our system that changes the way we think and act is contrary to God and is a sin. After sharing from the Word of God with him I asked if he needed any prayers or if he knew of anyone else that was in pain or struggling with addiction. He mentioned his friends and along with them I asked him if he would like to be free from his alcohol addiction and he said, “yes”. So we all prayed together, and invoked the Father to free him from addition. That God would break the chains that has him bound. After prayer he shook our hands and said how grateful he was for our prayers. A little bit further down the road I met a man that had just lost his girlfriend do to a car accident. He was devastated. I could feel the pain in his heart as he spoke to us. In His great affliction, I told him to look to God for guidance. That He will be there for him in prayer. I offered him a Bible and he took it graciously. I asked him to read, starting with Matthew, so that he could start learning from the words of Jesus. Thank You Lord for using us this night to declare Your great Name to the people in Boise. You are the anchor of my soul. There is nothing on earth that satisfies me like Your love. You gave me wisdom and knowledge this night to preach Your gospel. Thank You for bestowing courage in my heart. I will follow You until the end, my Lord. I love You.

Acts 4:10-13 (KJV)
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
