Thou Shalt Have No Other Gods Before Me

Do you follow the first commandment of God? Evaluate your life, this day, to see where you stand before Him. The first commandment reads, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” If you believe that there is only one God in the heavens above and serve Him alone than you are following His commands. On the other hand, if you believe that you can become a god or there are other Gods beside Him, then you are breaking his law. This is denying the words of the Bible when it reads, “Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.” If this is your heart’s desire to become like God than you are putting your own intents above God’s will. Believing we can obtain godhood is blasphemy to God. This is lifting up ourselves and not our Creator. Pride and arrogance can easily take over a person’s life when they are not humble before God. Satan also desired to become a God. God described him as believing, “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” Because He desired godhood status, in the end, his reward was hell. God declared “Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.” We must submit ourselves in humility before God to be saved in heaven.

Only false believers of God would say “there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many).” However, those in Christ declare, as the next verse reads, “But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.” There are many people that are challenging the first commandment of God and don’t even realize it. They walk in their own man made beliefs about God and gods in heaven and in turn are trampling God’s commandments. All those living in these lies are in sin and must repent to be saved. If you let God is in your heart, your eyes will be opened to the truth. All those living in Christ will not be deceived. Extra biblical beliefs will not trump what the Word of God declares about the Lord Most High. He is the only one true God. The Lord invites everyone that is living for Him to declare the good news. No longer hold back what God has put on your heart. Share the love of Jesus. It is this love that changes lives forever. I love You God. I worship You above all. You are the God that shines bright in my heart. You are my Eternal Father whom all things good come about. Keep me in Your arms forever. I don’t desire anything but to be close to You. I need You every hour. I praise Your Holy Name. Let Your Name be lifted high.

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
