Evangelize: Bethel Apartments Follow-up

Today was one of the best experiences in my life. The Lord has surely blessed me in ways I’d never imagine. Since last week Patrick and I have been so excited to follow-up on our first visit with Fernando. We prayed that what we had shared with Him would stick with Him during the week. We could see his openness to the Lord in His heart. He just needed to make the next steps and receive Jesus as his Lord and Savior. So we went to his home, with a prayer in our heart, that his door would be opened to us. We could hardly wait to share the love of Jesus with Him. Our faces were beaming with gladness as we knocked on his door. It was then that his little boy answered and hurried to get his dad. When Fernando answered the door he was busy taking care of the dishes and keeping track of the needs of his kids. Though he had so much going on he gave his time and attention to us. I asked him what he felt for Jesus in his life. He told us that he never thought about Him much and didn’t know how he could help him. Patrick and I then proclaimed that Jesus is the way to eternal life. That each of us are lost without His light in our life. That we would be stuck in our sins if He hadn’t paid the price for our sins on the cross. We told him that all the Lord desires of him is that he come unto Him. He didn’t have to go to a church right away but simply start with the small things in God. We expressed that His desire to pray and read the Bible will be enhanced the deeper His relationship is with the Lord. That this would come gradually as he gave His life over to Him. There were many more things we talked about but what I’ll never forget is when we asked him to confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord of his life. He asked us how long it would take and we expressed that it didn’t matter how long we take but that we are sincere in giving our lives over to Him. So we put our arms around each other and He asked Jesus to be a part of his life. He admitted he was lost and needed a Savior. The holy spirit filled all of our hearts in that moment. Before we left we gave him a Bible and asked him to start reading it and pray to God. He also accepted our invite to return next Saturday. This was such an amazing thing to witness. All our efforts of sharing the gospel was worth it. For the lost was found and now the Angels in heaven are singing praises for another soul is saved. Thank You Lord for using Patrick and I to bring your gospel to the lost. We love You above all things. It is Your great joy that fulfills our lives.

Romans 10:8-11 (KJV)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
