Follow The Spirit

When there is anger, deceit or pride in our lives, sin is at the door. We can know this by the feelings in our heart. Instead of comfort there is worry. Instead of love there is hate. Instead of loving others the attention is on us. In these times it is so important to call upon the Lord. He has power to deliver us from the enemy. We must be willing to give up the life we are leading to follow Him. The Spirit will tug at us and we will know it is God. We will get promptings to go a different path. We will be asked to look past ourselves and love one another. We will be asked to give up what is taking most of our time and come to Jesus. We will be asked to stop what we are doing and look towards Christ. If we follow the promptings of the Spirit our lives will change forever. If we continue to ignore the Lord than their will be consequences. Things could have been avoided like losing a job, losing a friendship, or getting in a wreck. When the Lord isn’t in control of our lives things can easily go off track and spiral downhill fast. If you have felt a tug to follow Jesus, run to Him. No longer delay for the time of your salvation is nigh at hand.

When we follow the Lord’s will instead of our own many great things will take place. We will become honest and true amongst others. People will look to us because we can be trusted. Our love for Jesus will extend past ourselves. We will love others more often than ourselves. Our needs won’t be as important as helping others. When our hearts are turned to God there is joy. Jesus has a plan for us. Let the Lord take the wheel. Run to Him when He calls. He always has the best intentions. Oh Lord, You are my guide. I feel at peace when You are with me. I love it when You are near. It pains me when I’ve fallen in sin and stray from your presence. I can feel the Spirit tugging for my return and am grateful for your mercy. You could have easily given up on me but You beckon for my return. You call my name and give me another chance to return to You. Thank You Jesus for accepting me back. I can feel your arms all around me. You have given me new hope. I feel enlightened each day that I follow You. Your will is my will. When You direct me I will listen. I will follow You. I trust in You. I love You.

Genesis 4:6-9 (KJV)
6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
9 And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?
