Freedom From Sin

All those that live by God’s words are His chosen people. Jesus said, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” It is indeed an honor to be a follower of Jesus. The word of God testifies that He lives. The Spirit witnesses the truth of His words. The Holy Bible truly speaks to my soul. Passages of scripture come to life and enlightens my mind like never before. I am seeing things in scripture that I was never aware of. As I read, I am astounded by the beauty of Gods words. I can’t help it but reread certain passages for they greatly impact me. Sharing my feelings about God’s word with my family is something that I feel I need to do. I share God’s message with them because it is essential that they are saved as well. Why would I keep the love of God to myself? His words are like desert to my ears. To not share this joy would be selfish. If God asks me to share His message with someone I will act on it. There are so many people that are reaching out for God and we are God’s vessel to share His message with them. Get out of your comfort zone and share the gospel with others. Get into the Word daily so that the Spirit may be with you. How will you know what to teach if His words aren’t in your heart? How can we be ready to take a test if we haven’t studied for it? Have His message on your mind always so that you will be ready to share it when the Spirit prompts.

If we are under the captivity of sin than there is no place for God’s word in our life. Our time is made up of selfish acts in order to fulfill our personal desires. If we are under addiction than His words won’t impact our hearts. We have already made room for our lustful intentions and there is no room for God. It is only through God’s grace that we can be freed from sin. Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” The love of Jesus is liberating. It has power to free us from captivity. There is nothing that the Lord can’t break us free from. There is true freedom in Jesus. His blood has covered all sins. Give your life over to the Lord. Let Him do a mighty work in your life. Give Him your heart. Pray that you may be free of your addictions. You may be too weak to overcome it but God can help you do anything. He will give you strength when you are weak. He will fill your minds with things that honor Him. If we abide by his counsel then His love will radiate in our hearts. Our lives won’t desire sin for His love is most important. God’s mercy is for all. Seek Him and you shall find Him. Believe on Him and you will find true freedom. He will set you free. Oh Lord, I am alive in your love. Thank you for freeing me from captivity. I will forever praise You. I love You and honor You.

John 8:31-36
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
33 They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?”
34 Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.
35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.
36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
