Break Free From Addiction

Satan’s ploy to deceive has been around since the beginning of time. He entraps us by saying that we “will not surely die” if we commit sin. He tells us that our “eyes will be opened”. We need to watch for his tactics for they are cunning. He knows our weaknesses and what will put us over the edge. If we fall victim to Him we will discover new things but at the same time we will lose sight of God. Different substances will stimulate our body and give us temporary joy. Soon we will be engaged in feeding our inner lusts just to feel the different affects it has on us. Our lives are led into secrecy. People may see us as normal on the outside but on the inside we are full of scars and thorns. We may feel a loss of something in our lives and things may not feel write. The loss we are feeling is God. We may not be dead in the flesh but we are dead in the spirit. If you have fallen into addiction, humble themselves before the Lord. You have literally distanced yourself from God.

Come broken before the Lord in prayer. Make an offering of your heart to Him. If you are sincere in your desire for change, He will have mercy upon you. If you can’t break free of addiction on your own, give it to God. Nothing is too big for the Lord to overcome. Once he is in your heart you will have power to do anything the Lord desires. God is kind and is also just. If our lives are changed before Him, we will be forgiven and counted worthy before Him. If we never give up our idols and addictions we will die spiritually dead. Satan desires to have us all at his clutches. All of the addicted and unrepentant are following Him straight to hell. There is eternal life for all those that are alive in Jesus. Follow Him and you be free from Satan’s grasps. Oh Lord, break free the chains that have us captive. Heal our hearts from iniquity. Lead us back to You. Bring back to life all those that are dead. Make them new creatures before You. Wash away their sins. I have hope in your love for it never fails.

Genesis 3:1-6
1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;
3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.
5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
