Recommit To The Lord

When we fall under sin, at times we feel joy. This feeling comes and goes while under addiction. We are always searching for the one high we once had. We try different things and nothing helps. Many times we feel depressed and more easily get upset with others. Nothing seems to go our way. When we pray the Holy Spirit feels so distant. It’s like our prayers aren’t being heard or answered. We feel separated from the Lord. It may seem like the Lord has left us but in reality we have left Him. Sin is still a part of who we are and the more we sin the farther away we are from God. The Lord is waiting for our return. He sees hope in our heart. He knows we can change if we just seek Him. If we come to Him in words alone than it isn’t doing us any good. We need to mean what we say when we pray for healing. We need to recommit to the Lord and forsake our lusts. We need to be willing to give up everything and follow the Lord.

In times of loneliness our souls are week. Our hearts are broken. If we might let the Lord take hold of our lives a mighty change could take place. Coming out of a life of sin takes a desire for change. We need seek the Lord and ask His forgiveness. Come to Him in prayer with a sincere heart. Unload everything that is on your mind. Cry out to the Lord for comfort. Let Him wipe away your tears. Let Him give you strength to overcome sin. Set your mind upon the Lord. Focus your thoughts on His love. Make Him your top priority. The more we seek the Lord the less room we will have for sin. We learn to love God and hate sin. Oh Lord, we offer our life to You. Take our broken hearts and give us new life. We put aside our lusts and recommit to following You. Thank You for your mercy. You saw past our faults and gave us new hope. Thank You for your compassion towards us. We come to You with a heart wide open to accept You in our lives.

Lamentations 1:14,16,18,20
14 “The yoke of my transgressions was bound; They were woven together by His hands, And thrust upon my neck. He made my strength fail; The Lord delivered me into the hands of those whom I am not able to withstand.
16 “For these things I weep; My eye, my eye overflows with water; Because the comforter, who should restore my life, Is far from me. My children are desolate Because the enemy prevailed.”
18 “The Lord is righteous, For I rebelled against His commandment. Hear now, all peoples, And behold my sorrow; My virgins and my young men Have gone into captivity.
20 “See, O Lord, that I am in distress; My soul is troubled; My heart is overturned within me, For I have been very rebellious. Outside the sword bereaves, At home it is like death.
