The Gospel Of Jesus Is Found In The Bible

In this generation there are many people that are deceived and following another gospel outside the Bible. The Mormon Church has added three other books to the Bible. One of them, they call another testament of Jesus Christ, the “Book of Mormon”. According to the church and the faithful, this book is the most correct book on earth. They read it more often than the Bible. Many doctrines have been created in their church that are non-Biblical. They teach that our sins were not paid on the cross, that we need to baptize for the dead, that man can become a God, that Jesus and Satan are brothers and many more lies. The beloved truths of the bible have been perverted. These lies are deceiving the hearts of many people. Many people of this church may not realize it but they are preaching another gospel. Paul counseled that we should not give heed to even an angel of heaven that preaches another gospel. He said this twice because of its importance. A lie from Satan is that another book can be lifted up above the Bible. Stay strong in the Word of God lest you be deceived.

The Mormon church was founded because an angel of heaven preached another gospel to Joseph Smith. Instead of forbidding the angel from speaking the message, Joseph received it. He listened to the instructions of the angel and wrote the books of the Mormon church. Because Joseph stated the importance of the Book of Mormon, the faithful now lift it up above the Bible. They even give praise to Joseph Smith in one of their hymns, “Praise to the Man”. How can anyone truly praise man when God deserves all our praise and honor? Paul said that we should not seek to please man but God. I was once part of this faith but through the grace of God I left. God had put it on my heart to search for the truth. What I found was that when I read the Bible I was convicted of the truth. The Lord has confirmed to me that the Bible is the Word of God. There is no other book that can come beside it or above it. It is alive in me. It is breathed from God himself and I am holding to it. If you are part of this faith, I ask that you seek to know the truth for yourself. Let the Lord guide your paths. Take heed to His counsel.

Galatians 1:6-10
6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,
7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

In this verse, I compare the KJV and the NIV version.
The verse states that Christ paid for our sins on the “tree” or cross.
      KJV
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
      NIV
24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

It is a common truth among Christians that Jesus died and paid for our sins on the Cross.
Give me bible references that boost your case for the Mormon doctrines I stated are not Biblical.

  2. I feel I need to respond to this. As a non believer myself I am able to look at religion without bias. All religions believe different things and for the most part strive to be better people so all good with me. But some simple facts that you stated above make no sense to me especially that you were such a believing mormon who served a mission. So you should know a little better what they believe. you said above, They teach that our sins were not paid on the cross, that we need to baptize for the dead, that man can become a God, that Jesus and Satan are brothers and many more lies. How can you say they don’t believe that he died on the cross for our sins, because they don’t use the cross as the symbol for christ life? Just like dads tombstone isn’t my symbol for his life. How do normal christians not believe in baptism for the dead but still believe that every person from the beginning of time and from every inch of earth must claim christ and be baptized. Since beginning of time less than 1% of humanity has been able to hear about christ here on earth, so are they going to hell strictly due to where they were born or when? As a non believer that makes more sense that they still have a opportunity.

    • Mormon Apostle, Bruce McConkie, stated, “Where and under what circumstances was the atoning sacrifice of the Son of God made? Was it on the Cross of Calvary or in the Garden of Gethsemane? It is to the Cross of Christ that most Christians look when centering their attention upon the infinite and eternal atonement. And certainly the sacrifice of our Lord was completed when he was lifted up by men; also, that part of his life and suffering is more dramatic and, perhaps, more soul stirring. But in reality the pain and suffering, the triumph and grandeur, of the atonement took place primarily in Gethsemane,” (Doctrinal New Testament Commentary, vol. 1, p. 774, emphasis mine).

Therefore, a new doctrine was created stating that Jesus paid for our sins in Gethsemane and not the cross.
1 Peter 2:24, says He paid for our sins on the cross.
