The Lord Looks At The Heart

What really matters is if our heart is right with God. The Lord doesn’t care if we dress nice and impress others. We might be a good speaker and flatter people by our words but none of it matters if our heart isn’t right with Jesus. The Lord is searching for those that have given their life to Him. We may not look like much on the outside to some but if we worship the Lord we are blessed before Him. We don’t need to lift ourselves up for we know that the Lord deserves all the glory and honor. We don’t brag about the number of people we’ve taught the truth too but we look at each person, for everyone is important to the Lord. The Lord knows each of our hearts. Give your lives to Him today. Don’t just give a piece of you to Him but give your whole heart.

Lord, my heart beats for You. I am so blessed that You came into my life. I was once a person that disregarded Your sacrifice. I thought I could bare the world on my own. You always tried to come into my life but I kept disregarding You. It wasn’t until my heart was broken that I could see the truth. You chose me and always saw the best in me. You saw my heart and the person I could become. I pray that I may look at the heart of other people and not the way they look on the outside.  I know that you examine my heart daily. For this reason I come to You often in brokenness. May our devotion to God come from our heart. Give all that you have from within you to the Lord.  The Lord is our shepherd and knows who is truly following Him.  I love You Lord. I praise your Holy Name.

1 Samuel 16:6-13 (NKJV)
6 So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, “Surely the Lord’s anointed is before Him!”
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
8 So Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, “Neither has the Lord chosen this one.”
9 Then Jesse made Shammah pass by. And he said, “Neither has the Lord chosen this one.”
10 Thus Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, “The Lord has not chosen these.”
11 And Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all the young men here?” Then he said, “There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here.”
12 So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!”
13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.
